Cabo San Lucas - A *MUST VISIT* Destination in Mexico

We closed out summer break by adding a brand new destination and resort to my personal resort portfolio. We spent 6 awesome nights at Hard Rock Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Hard Rock Los Cabos is a family friendly resort, that has something for everyone! Think multiple pools (including quiet, adult only pools and lively, adult only party pools), a main pool with tons of entertainment like volleyball and games, and even quiet pool tucked behind one of the buildings with a beautiful beachfront, view. They have water slides, a bowling alley, escape room, recording studio (for the music lover), kids club...just to name a few. Hard Rock Los Cabos is on a beautiful, secluded stretch of beach that is non-swimmable due to the currents and rip tides in the Pacific in the area. Imagine the tide being in all the time and watching the water rush back out to sea as quickly and as hard as it comes crashing in!

This resort opened in 2019 so it has a newer, more modern feel to it, and has larger rooms and bathrooms than resorts that have some age on them. HRLC has any type of room category you can imagine, the standard Oceanview, Oceanfront, Swim-Up, private pool suites, and even 2 bedroom Rock Royalty suites that come with a butler.

The food at HRLC is something to note. They have many restaurant options so there is always something for everyone traveling. The favorite among our group was Toro, which is the steakhouse! The steaks were wonderful and their mash potatoes with cheese in them were something to write home about! There is Zen, which is a very close 2nd on our group's favorite restaurant. Zen is an Asian fusion restaurant with hibachi tables and then a sushi bar. The sushi there is to die for! The sushi chef's even made us a huge platter (there were 7 of us) of all of their chef's specials! Impanema - the Brazilian steakhouse, Ciao - the Italian restaurant, the Market - the buffet with food from many different cultures, Los Gallos - their Mexican restaurant, Pizzeto - a wonderful pizza place (the best poolside pizza I have probably ever had!), plus other snack stands and 24/7 room service (which our kids ordered every single day)!

Cabo itself is a very unique destination. The deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the cliff areas where the water meets the land are absolutely beautiful but it's also worth noting, most of the beaches in Cabo are not swimmable. This is due to the very strong rip currents and tides in the area. We were able to go on a catamaran cruise and visit a swimmable area - so there are some ocean swimming options, there but they are few and far between. The marina and downtown Cabo area are full of the typical tourist spots....Senor Frogs, Hard Rock, a few night clubs, shopping, and restaurants. This area is walkable and was the perfect ending to our day after getting off the catamaran.

If you haven't ever visited Cabo, you should definitely add it to your list. If you've visited Cabo - let me know when you're planning on returning, I will gladly go with you! It's a beautiful destination with wonderful people!
