As a travel agent, I have had the opportunity to learn about many different types of destinations and resort chains, one of my personal favorite brands, and one of the most popular chains we sell is Sandals (and Beaches) Resorts.
Many people have heard of Sandals before because you can't be around since the 80's and not be a brand that people haven't heard of. What I've learned though is that many people don't know the progression of Sandals what makes them so special, and keeps them successful year over year.
Sandals is an adult only, couple only resort brand. Their slogan is "Sandals, where love is all you need". This is not the resort brand for a bachelorette party of even your annual girls trip. You'll mostly find couples that are celebrating their love or major milestones such as honeymoons and anniversaries when visiting their resorts.
Sandals is one of the only brands that is a TRUE all inclusive. This means that when you get there - you won't find any hidden charges or even up-charges during your stay. If you want a steak at every meal, you've got it. If you want premium liquor in your daiquiris, just ask. Tips are also included in your pricing (unless you have a butler suite or schedule a spa service). Meaning that you won't have to tip your bartenders, maid service, restaurant staff, or wait staff. Not having to tip when you're on property can be a big money saver and "pro" as you're weighing in on resort options for your next adventure. Sandals also offers a variety of water sports such as kayaks, Hobiecat (personal sailboats), tubing, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. All of it - included.
Are you a scuba diver or interested in diving? Sandals includes that in your stay. If you have your diving certification then you are able to go out with the Sandals crew and do a dive each day during your stay. If you've ever wanted to learn to dive and get certified, Sandals has that covered too. During your stay, you're able to take a PADI certification course while on property, and after successful completion, you can dive daily.
Sandals has several ways and opportunities to allow their guests to save money when planning their adventures. If you're visiting within 30 days of your anniversary - you can get a free night included with your stay. Do you currently or have you served in the US military? There's a discount for you in there as well. Are you a current police officer or a member of your local fire department - you get a discount. The best part of all of this - you can stack them all on top of each other. If you are celebrating an anniversary and also a veteran - you can take advantage of them both. This has saved my clients upwards of $2000 at times. It can make a HUGE difference!
Stay at one - play at all! Sandals has a program where if you're visiting a resort and there are neighboring resorts close by, like in St. Lucia, if you stay at 1 resort - you have full access to the other resorts including the transportation to get you there. This gives guests over 25 different restaurant options, 3 different beaches, golf course options, just to name a few.
Sandals has a variety of resorts that are "sprinkled" throughout the Caribbean. With Jamaica as their home base, they have the most resorts there. You can also find resorts in the Bahamas (Nassau and Exuma), Antigua, St. Lucia, Curacao, Grenada, and Barbados. Each resort being different than the others, even in the same destination.
